WEST MORRIS SOCCER CLUB 2014-2015 TRYOUTS
 
  • Players must register online for the tryouts in order to be placed on a team.
  • Cleats and shinguards are mandatory -- players without them will not be allowed to participate.
  • Tryouts for U9-U12 age groups will be held over the course of two days. 
  • It is STRONGLY recommended that U9-U12 players attend both tryouts
  • U8 and U13-U18 age groups will have a one-day regular tryout with a makeup tryout for players unable to attend
  • Each player will be given a number when they check in on the day of their tryout.  This is how we will evaluate/identify players. 
  • Fall evaluations from professional trainers will be also be used in the team selection process.
  • For players who attend BOTH tryouts the higher of the two ratings will be used in the team selection process. 
  • Be sure to check the website for possible changes to the tryout schedule.
  • All tryouts will be held at Chubb fields. 
  • Our professional training organization, Cheshire Soccer, will be running tryouts.  All evaluators have the appropriate credentials and are fully qualified to assess players.
  • WMSC/Cheshire use a best fit model, this means placing your child at a level that is most appropriate for him/her.
  • Parents/spectators are not allowed on the playing fields and are not to approach their players except during water breaks. Parents/spectators are not to approach evaluators anytime during the tryouts.
  • There will be a representative from the WMSC board at all tryouts to answer any questions.

Team Placement Notification:
 
  • You will receive an email indicating if your child has been selected to play on a travel team.
  • All players accepting a roster spot on a team will be required to pay a NON-REFUNDABLE, NON-TRANSFERABLE fee of $225 at the time of acceptance. A player's roster spot is not secure until payment is made. The remainder of fall fees will be due on June 15 and spring season fees will be due February 15thShould we not receive payment from you within 48 hours your child’s spot on the team will be given to another player. 
  • Players not selected for the travel program will have the option of playing in our intramural   program.
