General Information

All of the WMSC Travel teams receive:

  • 2 days per week of training over both seasons
  • 8-10 Morris County Youth Soccer Association (MCYSA) or Eastern Development Program (EDP) league games in both the fall and spring
  • 1 club-approved tournament (more tournaments can be added per team for additional fees)
  • 1 day per week of supplemental goalkeeper training and striker training in both the fall and spring (included)
  • 1 day per week of winter training (strongly encouraged, optional)

We aim to offer a competitive and nurturing soccer environment for players of all skill levels. For more information on our program, please see our Travel Program Overview about our mission and philosophy.

Why Choose West Morris Soccer Club (WMSC)?

New Title

A non-profit soccer club benefits its members by fostering a supportive, community-driven environment where member feedback informs the club's growth and success.

  • Member Driven WMSC is a not-for-profit 501c corporation operated by a Board of Volunteer Trustees, whose children also participate in the Program.

  • Values Driven – WMSC is a community, not a business.  We have always endeavored to develop well-rounded athletes with an equal focus on the intangibles of team sports including discipline, respect, teamwork, and accountability.

  • Exceptional Facilities – We have unparalleled access to top-tier facilities each year, working cooperatively with our local recreation departments.

  • Professional Coaching – High-quality training and coaching  through our partners Kickz Soccer and PESA, for just under half the cost of competitiors.

  • Local Feel, Regional Footprint – WMSC is uniquely positioned to allow players to play close to home with their friends and classmates. Chester, Mendham, Long Valley, and the surrounding area, creates a deep player pool that affords it talent not typical in smaller programs.

  • Competitive Soccer, Tailored to Your Player – Perhaps our greatest “competitive advantage” is that we do not employ a one-size-fits all approach to soccer, and embrace multi-sport athletes, rather than forcing kids to “choose” a sport

Unable to Attend tryouts? No problem!

If you are unable to attend for any reason, we ask that you still register for tryouts using the link above. This will allow us to schedule an ID session shortly after the open tryout for your player to tryout for a travel team.

Rest assured, this alternative path does not negatively impact your players ability to make one of our travel teams.

WMSC ID Sessions

An ID session is typically an opportunity for players to work out with an existing team so that our coaching staff can evaluate skill level to determine a proper fit with our teams and our organization.

ID sessions are coordinated with our training staff and can take place throughout the soccer season.

ID sessions are suitable for:

  • High School age groups (birth years 2008-2005)
